Quality Advisor (Hampshire)

Location: Alton, Hampshire. The post is part Home based, part site based. Hours: 35 Hours per week. 20 hours home based 15 hours on site Salary: £16-18k per annum dependent on experience. Per annum Closing date: 29 February 2012

Job Purpose & Principal Accountabilities:

  • You will oversee the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage & Playwork curriculum to ensure the setting is providing a high standard of physical, social and intellectual care for children aged between 4 years to 11 years of age. You will work closely with the Programme Manager and Playleader within each Out of School Club to ensure each setting is meeting Ofsted National requirements for Out of School Childcare.
  • The post holder must be capable of working on his/her own initiative, sometimes to strict deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Creating a caring, safe and stimulating environment that promotes learning through play.
  • Supporting all of 4Children’s Out of School Clubs within Alton, Hampshire, and to role model best practice, across each club.
  • Training and supporting the Play leader in working with all play staff in implementing and understanding EYFS & Playwork Principles, how to maintain high standards and planning.
  • Working alongside the Playwork team in understanding and implementing EYFS & Playwork Principles in all informal groups by conducting regular staff assessments, recognising training needs and developing teamwork.
  • Promoting to parents in the Out of School Clubs an understanding of EYFS & Playwork Principles.
  • Working with all Out of school clubs in Alton, Hampshire ensuring they meet welfare requirements of EYFS.
  • Ensuring all Out of school clubs are inclusive, and ensuring adequate resources are in place for implementation.
  • Ensure all day settings are in line with environmental, health & Safety and Fire Safety regulations.
  • Administrative tasks such as weekly or monthly reports, maintaining staff and child records, preparing information for the Local Authority or Ofsted, QuickBooks, liaising with the finance department, and attending finance meetings.
  • Day to day management of one of the out of school settings.
  • To ensure that each club is adequately staffed in club and on the walking bus in accordance with 4Childrens Policies and Procedures.
  • Creating a caring, safe and stimulating environment for mobile crèches and provide staff ensuring all aspects of the crèche meet welfare requirements of EYFS, and 4Childrens Policies and Procedures.
  • To Liaise with Head Office and Ofsted during inspections, and as and when necessary.
