Job Purpose & Principal Accountabilities:

To work closely with the 4Children Youth Work Co-ordinators and RAF Community Development Officers in ensuring a productive working relationship is established.

To work with young people by making contact and establishing relationships with young people from the RAF community.

As directed by RAF Community Development Officers and 4Children Youth Work Co-ordinators to deliver an innovative, high quality range of personally challenging activities and support to young people from the RAF community, taking into account their individual needs.

To assist in the dissemination of good practice within the RAF Benevolent Fund Youth Support Programme.

To produce monthly reports for the Youth work co-ordinator and RAF Community Development Officer.

To develop and deliver the 4Children RAF Benevolent Fund Youth Support contract on an RAF base in an innovative way.

To develop a productive working relationship with the RAF Community Development Officer on the base, as the local line manager on station, and any other relevant RAF personnel.

To contribute to the development and delivery of a programme of imaginative activities, encourage the active participation of young people from the RAF community in developing their skills and understanding of others and the world around them.

To manage sessional staff who will be delivering both Junior and Senior youth provision within RAF bases.

To provide bi-monthly reports for the RAF Benevolent Fund and Youth Work Co-ordinator on progress made as part of the contract.

As directed by RAF Community Development Officers, to organise and manage holiday activities programmes for children and young people on the base.

Involve young people in the decision-making processes whereby individuals and groups take on responsibilities for themselves and others in their project and the wider community.

Respond to individual and group needs, which include issues affecting young people, promoting self awareness and self-esteem.

Comply with individual responsibilities for staff and young people, in accordance with work role, for health and safety in the workplace.

Follow child protection guidelines and report any concerns using the correct procedure.

Provide participating young people with access to recognised award programmes to support, accredit and celebrate their learning and achievement.
