East of England Family Hero - Stacey Johnson

Stacey has a brain tumour, but even though she is herself very unwell, she gives up her time and energy to raise money for children staying in hospital.

Setting up the charity Kisses 4 Kids, Stacey is determined to improve the quality of life for children staying in hospital for long periods of time. Her charity aims to help children and young people going through serious and terminal illnesses and to support their families. She runs numerous fundraisers to raise funds to support her work and recent events have included a fire service boxing match which attracted 500 spectators and was hosted by Frank Bruno.

One of the main ways in which she helps children is in arranging trips away for them. The 'A While Away Project' has been set up to send families with children on treatment or recurring hospital users away for a well deserved break.
