Yorkshire and Humber Family Hero - Joanne Clarke

Joanne has looked after her severely disabled adopted sister for years. Her sister was not expected to live long, walk or talk and she has come such a long way with the support of Joanne.  She is now over 30; can walk and even has limited speech.

Joanne went on to get married and have two children of her own who are now 6. Zac has Dyspraxia and has numerous problems, while Danielle was verypremature and had problems due to that.

As well as being an incredible carer within to family, Joanne helps run the local salvation  army with her husband, runs a youth club, helps feed the homeless every week and also helps with the over 60s! She is an amazing lady who gives all her time and energy to others, even with the challenges that come from within her own family.
