Northern Ireland Family Hero 2014 - Jeanna Kelly

Jeanna’s world changed forever when in December 2013 following a tragic accident Jeanna lost her sister.

Jeanna is a mother to five children of her own, two of which have severe learning difficulties, yet she didn’t hesitate to help take on the care of her sister’s five children.  This remarkable woman put her grief to one side to ensure all the children were sheltered from the details of that devastating day, running fundraising events to help pay funeral costs and supporting all the children whenever she can.

Not only Is Jeanna helping to care for ten children, she does this while suffering from medical problems herself. Ronan said he nominated his mum because ‘she does everything for all of us and I would like to give her something back.’

Jeanna truly is a family hero.
