Harlequin Day Nursery is situated on the grounds of a local school; the day nursery has a 37 place capacity, caring for children between 0 to 5 years. We are open between the hours of 8am and 6pm so that parents can access employment, training or support services. A walking bus has been in place between the day nursery and the infant school since September 2009. This was created to support the needs of the parents who are working or studying locally.
The building of the Children’s Centre and Day Nursery was complete in September 2008 and families were able to access services in November 2008. The Day Nursery in partnership with the Children’s Centre offers a wide range of services to local children, young people and families within the local community.
Parents are able to access their child’s entitlement the education grant funding for 3 and 4 year olds and hours can be arranged to best suit their needs. Harlequin Day Nursery is also part of Essex County Council’s two year pilot scheme, where parents who meet specific criteria can also access 15 hours of funded nursery care.
