Television presenter Richard Arnold will be announcing the winners of the 4Children and Take a Break Family Heroes Awards which recognise the dedication of people who have supported children and families through difficult times.
Richard, who is Entertainment Editor on ITV’s breakfast show Good Morning Britain, will be hosting a glamorous awards ceremony on 6 November where the Family Heroes 2014 will be revealed. Richard will be presenting awards and congratulating the winners who are nominated by the families they have supported.
Judges from national children and families charity 4Children and Take a Break had the difficult task of choosing 12 regional family heroes from a record number of nominations.
Each regional family hero will be given an all expenses paid trip to London to attend a glittering awards ceremony at Plaisterers Hall. The ceremony will culminate with one inspirational hero being named as overall national Family Hero 2014 and being presented with a £5,000 cash prize. All the regional family heroes will have their story featured in Britain’s best selling women’s weekly magazine, Take a Break.
Commenting on the awards Richard Arnold said:
Every family has its heroes. I always tend to think of my grandparents and their courage during the war years, both in action and at home. They were great characters and extraordinary people. I am looking forward to meeting all the Family Heroes, presenting them with their well-deserved awards and hearing their inspirational stories."
The Family Heroes Awards, now in their fourth year, celebrate unsung heroes in each region of the country who go above and beyond the call of duty to support children and families through tough times. Nominees include people who work or volunteer with children and families as well as those who care for their own family.
4Children Chief Executive Anne Longfield OBE, said:
Every day people around the country do extraordinary things for families who are struggling or going through tough times. For some this will be the lifeline that makes it possible to carry on. This is our opportunity to say thank you.
“We look forward to sharing the inspirational stories of how our winners have supported children and families.”
Take a Break Editor Rebecca Fleming: said:
The Family Heroes Awards recognise some extraordinary people who have helped and supported families through difficult times. It was very moving to hear their stories of devotion, care and courage while we were judging the nominations.
“These stories will be told at the awards ceremony where the winners will be revealed and thanked for making a difference to the lives of families across the country.”
