What we do

Programmes

4Children develops and delivers great support and programmes across the 0-19 age range including research projects, consultations and direct delivery work with children, young people and families. We work with a range of partners such as government departments, commercial sponsors and other charities on a truly diverse range of work.

Short Breaks Clubs and Activites

4Children is now the lead provider for Short Breaks Clubs and Activities for children and young people who have a disability in Essex.

Early Learning and Community Childcare Hubs

Early Learning and Community Childcare Hubs brings together high quality day care providers and childminders to develop a financially sustainable model for a more flexible and responsive childcare offer. The project is setting up six ‘start-up hubs’ and is working with three other support hubs to produce learning and evidence for setting up this flexible childcare offer.

Reach Out

4Children’s ‘Reach Out’ project is helping children's centres improve the impact of their work with targeted, disadvantaged and vulnerable families. An outcomes framework is being developed with the early years sector and inspired by 4Children's partnership work with Professor Marmot at UCL to develop An Equal Start - improving outcomes in children's centres.

What we do

Airplay Youth Support

The RAF Benevolent Fund has commissioned national charity 4Children to deliver trained Airplay youth workers on RAF stations, working in partnership with RAF Community Development staff to provide a programme of safe and stimulating activities for young people on stations.

Business Skills for Early Years

A new DfE funded programme to help to improve the business skills of early years and childcare providers, this project will bring together good practice resources and information on business management in an online hub as well as offer a series of free training events and seminars.

This programme aims to work with the voluntary and community sector to help increase their management of children centres or delivery of children centre services in several pilot areas throughout England.
