Over the summer 4Children and Take a Break scoured the UK once more to find heroes among us who have transformed the lives of children and families and who have really helped and given hope through times of adversity.
This year we recieved the biggest quanitity of nominations so far. It was inspiring to read so many stories of wonderful people going above and beyond to make a lasting difference to a child or family. It was a huge privilidge and such a difficult job to choose between such heartfelt nominations but finally we narrowed them down to our final 12 regional finalists.
The evening was a glamorous night to remember at Plaisterers' Hall in central London. It was a pleasure to be joined this year by the charismatic Richard Arnold, Presenter from Good Morning Britain, who hosted the awards and warmly welcomed all of our inspirational heroes.
A fabulous champagne reception was followed by a luxury dinner and then the highlight of the evening our award ceremony. All films from the evening can be watched using the below links so please take a moment to watch our 2014 Family heroes stories.
After the regional winners were celebrated, Chief Executive of 4Children, Anne Longfield and the editor of Take a Break magazine, Rebecca Flemming announced the National Hero 2014 and invited them up on stage to collect their £5000 prize kindly donated to the awards by Take a Break magazine.
