Improving Outcomes for Two Year Olds

This booklet for practitioners was commissioned by the London Borough of Harrow from 4Children, as part of their ‘Improving Outcomes for Two Year Olds’ project. It aims to celebrate the unique characteristics and development of children who are two years old, and to show how exciting and dynamic this period of each child’s life can be.

Children go through incredible changes, when their brains grow more rapidly than they ever will again - at times a million connections are forming every second between their brain cells. We hope to show that if children are supported through these changes by a close partnership between parents and practitioners  who share the wonder and excitement of  two year olds, this can have a life - long impact on children’s learning, and on their enjoyment of life.
